I haven't committed to solar yet, and it felt refreshing to work with such knowledgeable solar reps. Even though solar didn't work out for my particular situation, Jackson showed obvious experience in the solar industry and stayed to answer all my questions. I would definitely recommend for anyone considering solar!

Working with aptive was simple and relatively pain free. I spoke with aptive after speaking with several other solar companies. The project management team communicates primarily via text, which is great because I don't have to worry about catching a phone call in the middle of the work day.

The worst decision we ever made was to sign up for solar panels, especially with an Aptive Solar sales rep. We were told absolutely that the panels would pay for themselves and cover our electricity bills. This is a lie - no utility company in the State allows this. You generate the energy to the grid and then the power providers charge you to actually distribute that energy back to you. You pay for it regardless of what you generate. The only savings you get are cents for each EXCESS kWh you generate, and this fluctuates. Unfortunately, the panels were already on the roof by the time we worked out that we were scammed. And this was after MONTHS of problems and shoddy workmanship by the solar installers they signed us up with. I wish I had never signed up for a 35-year loan for these panels with this rep. We were lied to, and now we're paying MORE per month than we were before because now we're paying our electricity bill and paying for the panels; roughly DOUBLE. STEER CLEAR, don't be scammed like we were. Absolutely disgraceful.

A salesman with Aptive Solar sold us solar panels through a dealer program with MC Solar. MC Solar subsequently went out of business and Aptive Solar responded by telling the saleman to "GHOST US". Even going as far to issue a Cease & Desist to the salesman ands team, and fire them as well. I personally reached out to the company and the Florida Regional Manager has still not returned my call. It is absolutely disgusting that they are going to be allowed to continue selling solar contracts when they neglected the ones they have sold already. Don't get stuck with $50k in debt and roof decorations like I did.

Aptive Solar approached us about buying solar panels in May 2022. They were working as a lead generator for Shield Energy and Everbright (a finance company). The sales rep, Collin W, had us sign a contract with Shield Energy and Everbright on May 23, 2022 for the installation of solar panels and financing of the project. The panels were finally installed on August 5, 2022, but as of today, February 18, 2023, they have still not been hooked up to produce power for our home. Nonetheless, we have been getting bills from Everbright since September. Once the panels were installed, Aptive Solar quit talking to us and told us we needed to speak with Shield Energy for any updates. If you want solar panels that actually produce electricity for your home, try another company. Aptive Solar will sell you a package, but leave you hanging.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I signed my contract June 6th of 2022 and it is now February of 2023. Install occurred after months of waiting and no contact from the company. I have beed told they are waiting for inspections to be complete and have had been told 2 different dates the inspections were to be done that came and went with no contact or information from this company. It is a battle to get a hold of them. The customer service lines rings and rings until finally a machine picks up and asks for a message that you might as well be yelling into space as I have never received a call back. The system is not on and I am now paying a monthly bill for it. I feel duped, lied to, ignored, and anything else you can think of. Please for the love of god avoid this company.

I wish I could rate this company 0 stars. Their salesman sold me a bill of lies and exaggerations about the system that is now installed, and has ignored my calls since August. You can’t even find other numbers to call on their website. I’m not sure if the whole business is trying to defraud people into installing solar, or just the salesman I dealt with. Either way, steer very clear of this company, unless you want to be sold a bill of lies.

Stay far away from this Company!! This is an update to a previous review. Aptive Solar "sold" me on solar panels in May 2022. They were a lead generator for Shield Energy and Everbright (a finance company). The sales rep, Collin W, had us sign a contract with Shield Energy and Everbright in late May, 2022. In June, 2022, Shield slapped solar panels on my roof. It is now MAY 3 and I still have not passed county inspection! Closing in on ONE year. The installation has been taken over by Aptive's "in-house" installer called Ambia Solar. Ambia inspected and said it is a mess; wrong wire was used, shoddy installation, bolts missing. I have NO TIMELINE FOR COMPLETION. Avois Aptive, Shield Energy, Everbright Financing, and Ambia Solar AT ALL COSTS.

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like Aptive Solar consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest Aptive Solar solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Aptive Solar.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

Steps for Installing Solar Panels

  • Qualification: Contact solar companies through web forms, referrals, or flyers. Answer questions to determine eligibility.
  • System Design: Receive initial solar system design in a proposal. Review the design and consider panel placement, avoiding “under-sizing“ or “oversizing.“
  • Compare Quotes: Evaluate quotes, considering factors like monthly payments, power output, and system details. Seek guidance to simplify the comparison.
  • Contract Signing: Select a company and panel design, understand and sign the contract.
  • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
  • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
  • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
  • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation. From a signed contract to installation and system activation this process can take two to six months to complete. Check out our article for a more indepth look into the solar installation process.
