My system failed and I called Brightest Solar for help. This company did not install it, but after a brief call, Rob and Harold showed up the next morning to diagnose the problem. They were extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. It is obvious they value customer service and make it a priority to ensure that people are happy with their solar! I couldn’t recommend Brightest Solar enough!

I was asked if I would mind writing a review about my experience with Brightest Solar of Charleston, S.C. - - and I am more than happy to do so!

I am really, really happy that I chose to buy a top-of-the-line solar system from Brightest Solar instead of spending a lot of money for another company's questionable system. Brightest Solar had my system installed without me having to pull a dime out of my bank account - - and my electric bill has practically disappeared! (And when this Winter's huge electric bills were making headline news all over the Low Country, my solar system produced so much power that SCE&G actually gave me credits!!)

I'm an elderly widow, in my 80's, living on a fixed income, so going solar was a very intimidating concept. (I wasn't at all sure about it, considering the many ‘fads' that I've seen come & go in my life!) Does it work? Would it make sense? Am I “too old” to reap the rewards? Would my taxes go up? Would my son be saddled with unmanageable debt if I were to suddenly pass away? I had lots and lots of questions - - and after meeting with a few solar salespeople (most of whom obviously came from other parts of the country), I really didn't feel like I could trust anyone to give me straight answers (especially when many wouldn't even try to answer my questions after they learned of my age and limited income!)

But then I got a call from “Brightest Solar” - - a local company - - and was able to arrange a meeting with the owner, Rob Dodge. He immediately impressed me as being very knowledgeable in every aspect of solar energy, but what I really appreciated was that he could use simple words to explain to me not just how solar power would work in my home, but also help me to evaluate how the various available solar panels and systems could potentially impact my finances.

Now, I've got to be extremely careful with spending anything from my limited budget; and I usually get a lot of evasive answers and ‘technical talk' whenever I ask questions about product warranties, insurance and the so-called ‘guarantees' that most companies extend on their products, but Mr. Dodge seemed to really understand and appreciate my questions. He made sure that his company's advertised advantages were fully explained, and he provided documentation and certifications. His answers not only made sense to someone who felt overwhelmed by the subject - - but just as importantly, he demonstrated that Brightest Solar really has a genuine commitment to quality-control and optimal performance. For example, it was really nice that instead of trying to do everything over the telephone (or computer like everyone likes to do these days) - - they actually came to my home and addressed my questions about design, solar-production and maintenance before I even considered whether I would move forward! They did an in-home electrical audit at no cost. They designed alternate systems and provided the details on different financing options without pressuring me at all! They even ensured that our trees were trimmed, and the whole system was designed, tested and tweaked to provide me with the very best system possible - - and true to their promise (which initially sounded ‘too good to be true', I haven't had to spend a dime out of my monthly budget!

Thanks to Brightest Solar and Rob Dodge, from here on out, instead of just paying the electric bill, I use my limited budget to invest in a substantial home-improvement that pays for itself while adding measurable value to the home that I've lovingly restored - - and I take great comfort and pride in knowing that I will be leaving my son a home that will allow him to enjoy FREE ELECTRICITY long after I've passed away! What a blessing!!

So, yes I am more than happy to write this review, extending my “Brightest regards” for both Mr. Rob Dodge and his team at Brightest Solar!!

Sincerely ~ Gloria L. of North Charleston, S.C.

Rob Dodge and his team did an excellent job installing solar at our home. Although I always wanted solar for its environmental impact, I was worried about the aesthetics. Our home has a quaint country farmhouse look, and I was worried that the panels would make the home look modern and change the feel of the place. The panels look great! If anything, our home looks better than ever. Rob Dodge and his team were efficient and kind, and did their utmost to go above and beyond with customer service. The job looks great, our electricity bill has dropped significantly, and our home is more comfortable than before. My family and I highly recommend Brightest Solar. We are so happy to have clean energy!

I got a phone call which sounded skeptical saying I could possibly never pay an electric bill again. After some thought I invited a Solar Consultant by the name of Martin to my house to give me the cold hard facts. He told me everything I needed to know and then some! Answered all my questions, provided pictures of the panels and installation process, and even got me in touch with other customers of his that had excellent reviews. After my husband and I agreed on the idea then Martin came back out with a full proposal that just made sense. The guys at Brightest Solar emphasize that they wouldn't let us buy something that doesn't make financial sense for us. We're about 6 into owning it, paid off our system (which was paid with Money we were already spending on electric) and will never pay the electric company again! Setting up for retirement at 42 years old and one less bill I'll have to look forward to. Give it a shot. It's free estimates!

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like Brightest Solar consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest Brightest Solar solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Brightest Solar.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.
