Excellent all the way around, rep that talked to me, Stacy in office and the installers

We worked with John G on installing solar on our home. Truth be told the process wasn't perfect, there was a communication issue between us and both the electrical and install people, but how John responded revealed his character. He was quickly able to work the problem and provide a solution. We would recommend him to others.

I can't express enough how much I enjoyed working with Compass and Terry my rep. As an engineer myself I was given every opportunity to review the data on each battery system and was lucky to be their launch for the Franklin WH battery system. There was a delay on the batteries but this was not the fault of Compass directly and I am very satisfied with the batteries and PV system currently running in my home. I can power my entire house for upwards of 18 hours with no power saving taken into account. Being more judicious with power in an emergency would easily put me over 36 hours of battery with no sun if not more. The installs were both clean and professional and I even enjoyed standing around and chatting about the specs with the technicians and Terry when he would come up for a visit. I was professionally treated and each snag hit with power company or battery delays was relayed to me quickly and I was kept in the loop with upcoming timelines and install dates. I couldn't be happier with my finished system. Would recommend them for any custom system install out there.

Terry L. was extremely thorough in explaining options, capabilities, and breaking down all elements of the quote/process. The advertised timeline/price was met...which seems to be uncommon in Florida. I was up and running within 60 days of signing. Sales, Customer Service (Office), Installers, Electrician were all punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. I would recommend Compass Solar over a few other local companies, left unnamed.

Compass Solar has been a very interesting and special experience! I watched them put on the panels and do the wiring and I was impressed with the attention to detail! It is obvious that they truly do care about each homeowner. They also took the time to make sure that I was happy about the location of the panels that had to be relocated to a different roof plane due to fire codes and certain requirements for installing near each ridge line on the roof. This tells me that Compass truly does everything by the book and will go the extra mile to ensure things are done correctly. They also use the best microinverters on the market at this time! (A-model inverters that will actually invert everything that is produced) The solar consultant that I met with from Compass was Landon Cagle. He was very nice, knowledgeable, and not pushy as a salesman. He showed up on the day of my installation to make sure I was happy. Landon was not just a salesman and I could tell he actually cared that I was happy with my decision to go solar with Compass Solar Energy. Landon's number: 850-824-0314

Compass has been the better solar company we've had experience with. They were very quick to respond and handled the whole process for us. Our system, after installed, is producing well over what we are consuming. They handled everything from installation, etc themselves and do not outsource anything, as well as having full insurance in case anything goes wrong during install. The sales person, John, was honest and the final install matched what he told us. If you are going solar, Compass is a great choice.

Compass Solar and Terry Logan were absolutely fantastic. We spoke with Terry at the end of November, set in stone our plans in December, Installation happened mid January, and we were live and grid independent on February 3rd. As a company, they were professional and efficient. Terry was very up front, honest, personable, and really made this a smooth transition for us. I would highly recommend Compass Solar to anyone interested in going solar.

A true review of Compass Solar | Panama City, Florida

I don’t normally write reviews, but I know how important it is to a potential customer because I was once one. I have had my system for about 2 months, and I will give you my review on Compass Solar, the panels, the inverters and the Compass Solar reps Terry Logan and Michael Bourgeois. Terry was in training at the time, so Michael presented everything to me. After that, we were just in contact with Terry. Both were very professional. I have always thought that solar companies were there to get your money. What I found out later is that was not true. I never wanted solar for years because of that reason alone. I would talk to all the door knockers, but I would tell them I didn’t want another bill even though they said it would replace my electric bill. I just couldn’t trust them because I was spending so much money. It wasn’t until my local electric company in Panama City raised their cost per kilowatt to $.16 that I started researching solar companies. I knew that I didn’t want to talk to the door knockers, so I found 3 other local ones and made an appointment with them to come to my house. I then averaged out the last 12 months of my electric bill so I would know how big of a system I needed. Each company spent a few hours talking to me and offering me their system. What I found out from Compass was that it wasn’t the panel that was the most important item in the system, but it was the inverter. Some companies were offering me a bigger panel (405Kwh) but an inverter that only converted 290kwh. So, I learned that it would leave about 115kw per panel every hour that I couldn’t use. That seemed like a lot because I ended up getting 43 panels. There is no inverter out there that can convert 100% of each panel and if there is I couldn’t afford it. Now, Compass offered me an 385kwh panel with an inverter that maxed out at 349kwh with a 30-year warranty on the whole system. I thought this was great, but I still wanted to check some other things out about Compass and the other companies. I looked on the Compass website and found a map of every house they installed solar. I found one in my neighborhood and to my surprise it was down the street from my house. I remembered this house because it was the house that I saw right after the Hurricane Michael came through that still had the solar panels on its roof. I was amazed at that time that the panels were still on the roof after a CAT 5 hurricane, and it didn’t touch them. That told me that Compass Solar products and installations were excellent. I still did some more research and narrowed down to 2 companies after the third got a little pushy and wanted me to sign with them the same day I met him with a higher price system and higher interest rate. I then called each company and asked them what their process was if a panel or inverter were to go bad. Compass was up front and told me that they would put in a warranty claim ticket with the manufacture, and it should be resolved within a few weeks. I called the other company and got transferred twice and there was a language barrier because it sounded like they were in a different country. I was still undecided but what I didn’t take in account was the customer service I was getting from each rep. Every time, I called or texted Terry Logan from Compass he answered or got back to me when he wasn’t in a meeting. Over that month we started to build a trust kind of friendship and that was very important to me because I was investing a lot of money in this system. So, I signed with Compass Solar based on warranty (30 years), panels (#1 in Australia), inverter (bigger than the others) and most importantly the customer service I received from Terry Logan. Now, I believe customer service should extend past the sale of what you are purchasing, and Terry has exceeded that as well. Every time I call or text him now, he still answers. My wife and I are so ecstatic of the purchase our panels and the customer service we have received from him and the company. I am currently about 2 months in after switching to solar with Compass and my system has over exceeded our expectations. I truly believe we were sold the best panel and inverter pair on the market. I have over produced the past 2 months and currently have over 1,200kw in my reserve. All of this I can sell back to my electric company at the end of the year. I wonder how much I will have in my reserve by then. I cannot explain to you how important Terry and Compass Solar have been in this process. Terry is “TOP NOTCH” and has been very professional and trustworthy to this day. He has made our Solar experience like no other. I hope you chose Compass Solar; it truly has been the best investment I have every made.

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like Compass Solar Energy consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest Compass Solar Energy solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Compass Solar Energy.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.
