Crown solar is outstanding, better than the maximum stars allowed.
When I first decided to go solar, I discovered this is not a mature industry - in fact it's a jungle that reminded me of the aluminum siding salesman of several years ago. Within almost moments of a first call (to Tesla which I mistakenly thought would be the most mature company) my phone began ringing and didn't stop; these companies obviously share prospects and I received at least 50 calls. Most had already Googled my house, taken the screenshot of my roof, and threw quotes at me even though some were on the other side of the continent. Thoroughly confused, but determined, I decided to do due diligence and I accepted about 30 quotes. Only two actually offered to come and visit the location, and only one showed up: Omar, the owner who actually brought a licensed electrician and project engineer along to ensure that the quote would be accurate and that there would be no hidden costs - it was Crown Solar Electric which is located here in Southern California. They were meticulous, inspecting every aspect of my electric facilities including my electric panels, grid feed, and meter. Notwithstanding this, I was at first unsure of them because the quote was almost half of the big companies (after tax credits which they computed correctly) and I wondered where they were cutting costs. So I compared the proposed equipment (the identical panels to those offered by the expensive quotes of the big companies) the conversion process (the same micro-generators, one per panel that the bigger companies offered) the roof guarantee (the industry standard twenty-five years) and the relationship to the LA DWP (which was superior to everyone else's). Still expecting something might well go wrong, I closed my eyes and leapt into the water anyway.
They made me feel like a genius. They arrived on the day appointed, finished all the work in one day, with the same project manager (Jeremy) who had originally inspected the house, and assured me the system would be large enough, which was important to me since this is a big 6000 square-foot home. The day after they completed their work I had my customary roofer come and inspect what they had done to my flat roof. As one might expect, he had some quibbles, but notwithstanding the guarantee, Jeremy returned within 48 hours and corrected anything the roofer had noted even though they assured me they were not significant. This alone would've been enough to say that they lived up to their word completely, efficiently, and with courtesy and extreme care. But it got better: as so often happens, the LADWP were slow in changing my meter and attending to their side of the installation. Melissa and Audra handled them completely and at no time did I ever have to contact LADWP or become involved in their bureaucracy. In fact, Crown Solar even offered to cover the cost of my electric bill during a delay occasioned not by their work but LA DWP scheduling. As soon as the system was up and connected to the grid, CS took care of connecting me to a monitoring service which provides me daily reports on the condition of my panels and the amount of power they produce.
In this day and age when old-fashioned service is so hard to come by, and too many suppliers are happy to collect the last check and consider their commitment done, Crown Solar is a reminder of how customer service and job commitment should be. I had no prior knowledge of the company and no one recommended them to me - I hired them strictly on the basis of my own due diligence and comparing some 30-odd quotes.
This is an outstanding company and I could not be more delighted with their commitment and effort. I give them six stars out of five. If anyone reading this has any doubts that this is a totally unsolicited reference, I have given Crown Solar permission to put them in contact with me directly.
if you're thinking about solar, be very careful of this wild West industry. But Crown and its people are truly outstanding.

Omar Greco and his team exceeded every one of his promises and my expectations. The initial meeting with Omar is interesting and INFORMATIVE. He does all the 'leg work of researching your current power usage and assessing your future needs.with the customer's involvement for projection. He provided us with 'guarantees' that everything will go smoothly from contract, to installation, inspection, and completion. I honestly did not expect this level of customer service, workmanship, or follow up but I have been AMAZED and DELIGHTED by this group of Professionals. The office staff is knowledgeable and efficient, making sure all the coordination of services meet all regulatory requirements within required timelines.
The installation crew were efficient and respective of all personal property. They arrive on time, focus on the installation tirelessly throughout the day, and completed the job in 1.5 days. They clean up after themselves at each step and were practically invisible.
Even the inspectors that came from the City building & safety complimented me on choosing a company with such high standards of equipment and installation.
It's too late to make a long story short but in conclusion--DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. This team is like having 'old fashioned' quality workmanship and customer satisfaction goals.

After receiving a huge bill from the DWP, I called Omar @ Crown Solar Electric. Within a few weeks I had a system on my roof and I was making power!!!

No matter what you do, call Omar first! Omar did not give us a pitch, he gave us an education that we could use on additional quotes to make an informed decision. Omar will spend as much time as necessary explaining how and when solar works, what mounting hardware (important here for both roof integrity and wind loading), the types of panels available at price points, inverters vs. micro inverters, etc. After doing my own research, we went with black LG panels and Enphase micro-inverters as recommended by Omar and couldn't be happier. Melissa in the office handled the HOA and net-metering, and Jeremy's team did a high quality install in 2 days, carefully arranging the interface equipment and choosing the optimal placement of the riser conduit with aesthetics in mind. We were up and running in under 3 weeks, with a 1 week pause waiting for HOA paperwork. Again, I would urge you to make Omar your first call, the education he provides will be invaluable as you work through your evaluation process.

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest Crown Solar Electric solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Crown Solar Electric.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

 • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
 • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
 • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
 • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
 • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation.
