Seems like a lot of customers here were promised 80%-90% savings like I was. A verbal provision of an agreement is a valid portion of the entire agreement, and since they violated the terms of the agreement, we should be allowed some legal recourse

Maybe they deserved the positive reviews at one time but, not only did they provide a bad service to me w/ no compensation (not following the agreed-upon design and having to move panels around on my roof) but they referred me to Window World who will not guarantee their shoddy work. WHERE IS NRG?! No one is answering their phones. I've been begging them to help me get Window World to fix their windows since Nov. 2018 (now it's Sept 2019) and no one follows through. Now I think the company is dissolved. Stay away from this company!

Call 1-888-589-4006 per their web site and no one answers, nor is an opportunity to even leave a message provided. What is worse is that I had 17 panels installed almost two years ago, two of which are only producing at 1/3 the output of the other 15 panels. I have been in contact (once or twice a month) with two different representatives over the corse of more than a year now. The low production of 2 of 17 panels persists.

10 solar panels not working and not reporting of energy produced. Tried calling customer support but no luck and no answer, even called up the corporate office and all i got in an answering service. They do not return your call at all!! This company does not even deserve a one star. They are just good in sales and once they get your money they just run away !!!! NO SUPPORT AND STUCK WITH NON WORKING SOLAR PANELS !!!!

When I installed my panels, it was stated it would cover the entire cost of what used to be my electric bill. Only month it did, when I was away from home for 10 days on vacation with no power running the home. I have had a broken microinverter for over 4 months and they have not come to repair or replace it. Been given the run around with no end in sight to finally fix or get a resolution. STAY AWAY!!!

We signed up to get our solar panels through Green NRG in August 2017. Shortly after the panels were installed we noticed we were not getting the 80-90% production we signed up for. We are getting maybe 50%. Therefore our electric bill has not been reduced as we were told it would be. When signing up, we were told that the company would move any panels if needed. We have a section of roof that gets more hours of sunlight. We have sent photos, emails, and phone calls asking for someone to come out and evaluate our system. For over 1 1/2 years we have been promised changes but nothing has been done. We like we were lied to and we have no way to fix the situation.

We have been at it with this company for eight months, and they have made mistakes at every turn--delays, misinformation (at best--probably they were lying to us), and now they began installing on the wrong roof, then in the wrong place on the right roof, made an absolute mess of our electrical system--and disappeared. Promises all over the place. Huge mistake to go with this group and I suspect the positive comments on this site were generated by their friends and family because it's even harder to believe that only three other people have had the horrible experience that seems to be typical.

Sam is a well spoken polite con artist! This man came into our home, lied about the system, lied about what it will cover regarding our consumption, lied about a cruise, lied about the loan structure, lied about if there were any problems they were just come remove the panels, lied, lied, lied. Of course it took some time for these lies to come to the surface, but none the less when they did and we reached out for help and clarification, we were met with more lies...some more from Sam, some new ones from Konstantin, Lia was never reachable even though her info was given as a point of contact, their manager Idan was 100% also not helpful at all, and then we heard from a gentleman named Kevin who basically put the entire ordeal to rest by saying and i'm paraphrasing, we're screwed and we can take them to court if we have any problems." So basically I'm paying more for electricity because Green Mountain is 10c/kwhr and my panels are not only put in the wrong place per our agreement, they are not covering our consumption, which we were 100% assured based on our behavior over 3 years we would more than cover that we would even build a credit. They even came back out once and saw they wired the entire system wrong so the numbers reflected weren't even correct. Guess who paid for that mistake?? I cannot stress upon you enough to STAY AWAY FROM GREEN NRG and if a man named Sam says otherwise RUNNNNNNN!!! The lies are insurmountable!

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like Green NRG (Out of Business) consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest Green NRG (Out of Business) solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Green NRG (Out of Business).

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

  • Qualification: Contact solar companies through web forms, referrals, or flyers. Answer questions to determine eligibility.
  • System Design: Receive initial solar system design in a proposal. Review the design and consider panel placement, avoiding “under-sizing“ or “oversizing.“
  • Compare Quotes: Evaluate quotes, considering factors like monthly payments, power output, and system details. Seek guidance to simplify the comparison.
  • Contract Signing: Select a company and panel design, understand and sign the contract.
  • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
  • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
  • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
  • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation.
