GreenBrillance designed and installed a solar panel setup on the rear (south slope) of our bi-level roof, with IQ8+ microinverters. Their analysis of how to arrange the panels did not require a site visit. But they did visit to examine the adequacy of the existing main electrical panel before preparing a final quote. Their prices were competitive. Installation took one day, and they took care of (or ensured) county permit, county inspection, power company application, follow-up with the power company to reprogram their meter for net-metering, power company final approval (took 4-6 weeks after county inspection), and accounts setup with Enphase for tracking, and for SRECs. The system appears to be working fine, and each panel can be reviewed in real time via the Enphase app. So I have not had to reach out to GreenBrilliance for after-sales service, as yet, so I cannot comment on that. Also, be aware of two things: (1) that the DC power that comes out of the panels has to be converted to AC current, and your system's kWh (kilowatt-hour) specifications provided in DC is reduced significantly when converted to (or measured in) AC; and (2) a IQ8+ microinverter may have a kWh handling limit that is lower than the maximum power the panel can produce, resulting in some loss due to "clipping."

**Updated Review** GreenBrilliance has stepped up their support game, a lot. They hired an active/engaging customer support specialist (Adam J Seaman) that has resolved the issues I had with GreenBrilliance directly. He also hounded and went to bat for me (the consumer) with the equipment vendor (Enphase). Enphase's notification system (email/sms/push) never worked for my issues. I attempted direct communication with Enphase to resolve and it was quite fruitless. Then, the GreenBrilliance specialist ACTIVELY represented me with Enphase, and through his tenacity, was able to get a conference call with several of there management personnel. After several tests and many communications, communication failure notifications are working and they have identified and committed to resolving the production failure notifications during Q4 2023. Though I'm still waiting on Enphase to resolve their notification issues, I now have confidence again in GreenBrilliance for their value, quality and customer service. [Initial Review] When I first purchased from GreenBrilliance, I would have given 5 stars. After my house almost burning down and their being unresponsive for 2-3 months. They did eventually (4 months total) repair the system, but having missed prodcution from Oct through Jan, I will now come up short on my netmeetering for the summer. The Owner, Amir, had promised some assistance due to their slow and extremely long time to repair the system. Now when I email and call I get ZERO response. Do NOT go with GreenBrilliance, you may like the initial price but the service, support and communcation are non-existent.

First, let me first admit that time from contract signing to installation was much much longer than estimated....however i suspect that was more driven by supply chain issues, PA authorities and PA electric company than the Green Brilliance team. Tim Clark from Green Brilliance was very responsive to answering all my questions in the quote/contact phase and Evan Miller was responsive during the contract execution phase. The GreenBrilliance team was professional and courteous. I selected higher quality components so i dont have any quality concerns at this point. I was impressed by the installation crew on site. The job took a little longer than anticipated but that was no problem and the crew was courteous, respectful and took pride in doing a careful, professional job. Once the system was installed, we waited and waited for the utility company to come and install the 2 way meter. As soon as they did, we had solar power. The enphase phone app is very cool. There are multiple software apps you need to create user id/pw for: enphase app, the loan app, the SREC app...and honestly i didnt stay on top of it all but the GreenBrilliance team (and partners) does send emails with instructions (you just have to look for them and do it). I think i am caught up now. So, bottom line- yes, i would use Green Brilliance again.

We had a good experience with Green Brilliance with the installation of our home solar system. Thanks especially to Evan Miller who coordinated the project from start to finish and promptly answered all our questions.

I signed a contract for a solar system with battery backup with Green Brilliance in mid-June 2022. The timeline in my initial quote of 3-4 months was unreasonably optimistic, as there were issues with Green Brilliance obtaining necessary permits in my township--at one point, I did not receive any communication from Green Brilliance for 4 months and they told me they thought we had agreed to cancel my project! Ultimately, everything got back on track, and my system was activated in late September 2023. Though this was about a year after the initial estimated activation date, the panels and battery are functioning properly, I got the components that I wanted at a fair price point, and I didn't have any issues whatsoever with the work that was performed. I can't give a 5 star review given some of the communication issues early on that resulted in significant pre-installation delays, but I wouldn't have any reservation in recommending Green Brilliance if you stay on top of communication with them throughout the permitting proces, and I have to acknowledge that much of the delay in my installation was related to my township's permitting process and would have been an issue regardless of solar installer. I particularly want to thank John Lee, Mary Alexander, Sam Albert, Evan Miller, Neo Mahankali, Evan Smith and the installation team who worked very hard to get my system up and running despite the obstacles faced!

Quote proposed AC micro-inverters on the roof and 1 "AC battery". AC batteries are OK if you want to add storage to an existing system but are a poor choice when designing the whole system from scratch. I had asked for whole-home backup. The single proposed battery was underpowered for that purpose and getting 2 would have been costly since each battery has its own inverter. DC coupled batteries with a single hybrid inverter is both less expensive and more power-efficient. I elected to not proceed given the poor match between the quote and my request.

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like GreenBrilliance LLC consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest GreenBrilliance LLC solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on GreenBrilliance LLC.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

Steps for Installing Solar Panels

  • Qualification: Contact solar companies through web forms, referrals, or flyers. Answer questions to determine eligibility.
  • System Design: Receive initial solar system design in a proposal. Review the design and consider panel placement, avoiding “under-sizing“ or “oversizing.“
  • Compare Quotes: Evaluate quotes, considering factors like monthly payments, power output, and system details. Seek guidance to simplify the comparison.
  • Contract Signing: Select a company and panel design, understand and sign the contract.
  • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
  • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
  • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
  • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation. From a signed contract to installation and system activation this process can take two to six months to complete. Check out our article for a more indepth look into the solar installation process.
