Years ago Heliocol put solar hot water and pool solar on the roof. I was later told they should not have sold me the water heater solar, as I was on gas and the backup for their system is electric, much more expensive and reduces significantly any savings. Five years ago all sort of green material coming through my faucets, shower heads ruined and all had to be replaced. Big expense I paid. Found out the rod in the tank completely disintegrated. Likely due to the hard water in AZ, but they should have known this since they are in AZ. Anyway, put in a different rod and seems to be fine.Told me to service every 4-5 years. I have called and left messages for service to call me back twice over the last ten days and sent an email request for service. Never even the decency to call me. Finally, reached Melody last Friday, explained the situation and she “promised” to get back to me Monday to arrange a service call. She never called, I called and left another message and still did not have the courtesy of calling me back. Do you really want to buy their products and not be able to get them serviced? Horrible company! In regard to the solar for the pool. Over time the small tubes spring leaks. Bad for the flat roof and the elastomeric coating. Each time I would call for a repair it would take two to three weeks for them to come out. In the meantime I had to turn off the solar so it did me no good. Finally, went on the roof with my pool guy and learned how to repair it ourselves. Stupid of Heliocol, now they lost all that money which I gladly paid when they did come out. The company is horrible, they sell you things they should’t, they don’t return calls or come out to do the necessary service. ZERO STARS. Need I say more? If this is posted they are really stupid and really don’t care about their customers, since I was nice enough to send a copy of the above to their main office with a note to please have someone of a managers level or above call and rectify this situation. I have given them a week to respond and they must have decided not to……

Appointment with No show and no | Surprise, Arizona

I spoke with someone on the phone and got an appointment day of June 16th at 5 pm to have someone come out to my house in Surprise and give me a bid for a pool heating system. 5 pm came went and no one showed up. Not even a phone call to say why....nothing. In these days of cell phones where everybody has one there was no excuse for SOMEONE to call me. So called them, didn't get through to anyone. Oh I did get a nice colorful flyer in the mail which inspired me to call. What a joke it turned out to be.

I had a $7,500.00 solar pool heating system installed by SunX Solar of Escondido Ca. in July of 2020. The installation was a nightmare. The installers hooked up the system backwards and back flushed into the pool. They broke my existing back-flush value and attempted to replace it with an incompatible one. The work was sloppy getting PVC glue everywhere which cannot be removed since is really a solvent. So I now have permeate finger prints where they touch the Heater Control Panel, new pump and other PVC fittings. The mounting hardware and PVC pipe layout is crooked, ill-conceived and chaotic. Several times they tried to get me to sign off on the installation while it was obviously not complete. This effectively forced me into the role of project manager and quality control. I significantly lowered my expectations from a top-notch professional system and installation (which is what I paid for) to something that at least functioned… somewhat. Since the installation I have had to call them several times for roof panel leaks. There continues to be small leaks in the pump area but I have given up on this getting resolved. When the heater system is on it pumps sand into the pool. I have asked them to fix that since day one and they have not. Hoping that it was not the heating system, I had my filter completely re-furbished and another check-value installed by a different company. It helped but I still have sand in my pool when the heater is on. On May 1st I texted my point of contact about another leak. He never responded. On Monday May 3rd I called and requested a service visit. I was told that they were busy and maybe they could get to it next week I emailed an outline my problems and request a supervisor contact me, they did not, I called again on Friday the 7th and requested a supervisors contact me, they have not. I texted the Sales Rep, still waiting for a response. I have been more than reasonable and patient at every turn with this company. I have given the ample time to respond and been very polite in all interactions. I paid promptly. The only conclusion I am force to come to is that no one should ever under any circumstanced do business with these people.

We are sorry we went with this company. The review site was favorable and do to the universal excuse, COVID, we chose them as we trusted good Ole Rusty! We had delays with installation, showed up without a harness line (hello it's on the roof) and rescheduled for weeks out. We do get a decent heat to our pool, however now we have a leak which is taking an act of congress to get fixed. They have lied to us about dates to service and never seem to have a manager. Don't use this company!

We installed a solar pool heating system late last fall thinking we could forgo using our gas heater this year. Boy were we ever mistaken as the system barley heats the water in our pool 3-4 degrees even when the temps are in the 90’s. I reached out to the service department asking to having someone come and check it to ensure it was installed correctly, but no one answers the phone and messages go unreturned. I reached out to our Rusty the sales person, but he only offered lame excuses for why the water won’t heat up properly - run the pump at a higher speed, use a solar blanket, the increase you are getting is normal, blah, blah, blah. Save your money and avoid this company! If they relied on repeat business they would go out of business with their horrible service and excuses.

Approximately 10 years ago I purchased the solar water heater from Heliocoil. They informed me that I would need to have maintenance every 5 years. At the first 5 year mark I contacted Heliocoil and they sent out a maintenance person to Nevada to provide the necessary service. It is now time for the second 5 year service. Helocoil has informed me that they do not provide service to Las Vegas any longer. If you are thinking about purchasing any Helicoil product, make sure that they will be able to do any required maintenance to you purchase. I am very disappointed with Helicoil and would never purchase another product from them.

If you are looking for a solar pool heater, keep looking. This place sold me a controller that they could not even program. They don't tell you that the service people come from Tempe AZ, so every time you need them it is a $150 charge, just to start. It is also payable up front. They won't even schedule you until you pay them. If they can't fix your unit, there is no refund. If you want to go with this company, ASK every question you can think of before you give them one cent. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy. BUYER BEWARE!!!

The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on Heliocol West.
