I bought equipment online with the hopes of building a DIY solar system (not recommended). After purchasing all the equipment, I quickly realized I was in over my head. New Farm Solar came to the rescue and, using the components that I had already purchased, built us a custom solar setup that provides the flexibility and all the functionality we needed. It was an unconventional and complicated grid-tied build providing grid and backup power to several buildings on the property. It was only because of New Farm Solar's extensive experience with many different designs and equipment manufactures that made it possible. Without their expertise, we would have ended up with nothing more than a very expensive brick sitting in the shed. Also, the office staff is top notch, there was zero sales pressure before signing, their contract process was straight forward and transparent, and all our questions and concerns were promptly addressed before, during and even after the build was completed. Thank you to everyone at New Farm Solar.

Did a great job for us! We bought used panels online (Sunpower 435w panels) and they are the only firm that would design (or wanted to design) a system to make it work. And it sure does work! Thank you NFS! Cant wait to buy and EV and drive for free!

We've been New Farm customers for several years. This project was to remove/replace 20+ year old panels (125w ea) with some Aptos (370w ea) bifacial panels, add a charge controller to handle the increased insolation, stack our already in place inverters to handle the increase, and upgrade the communication hub among all that. Andrew and crew were done in less than a day and a half. They were efficient, friendly, informative, and professional. Could not ask for more.

NFS has a heart to help people get the solar power they want and need. 1-- Patrick's Site Visit quickly established our needs & desires, and found the best placement – ground based for us. He listened to what I wanted, while checking all aspect of our electrical usage. 2-- Quotation was perfectly designed to meet 100% of our need and presented the potential ROI in an accurate way. Professionally, not hype like many salesmen do. 3-- All the installers where highly professional, friendly, efficient, yet took time for your questions. 4-- The operation is well managed and thus should be here to serve us for years to come – they are committed to solar. If you are interested in Solar, please get a quote from NFS, it is well worth your time. I believe you will be as happy with the system they put in as I am. They get it right at an good price.

Living out of state, I did many online searches and heard many sales pitches for solar installation on my home in AR. During my conversations with the folks at New Farm Solar I never felt pressured or guided into purchasing anything. My thoughts, questions, and concerns were heard and discussed, and a plan was made with those considerations in mind. Patrick and his team took the time to explain the ins and outs of the system, took care of working with the existing power company, and explained the Federal tax credit. The installation went great and the New Farm Solar team was very professional from the start. Since the original install in July of 2022, I have had great communication with the team at New Farm Solar and have purchased more panels that they have installed.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and patient professionals. We had great interactions with everyone on the team every step of the way. They answered all our (numerous) questions and designed our system to fit our requirements. They managed all the interactions with our utility company to get the net metering agreement in place. We had quotes (and sales pitches) from several installers. New Farm was, by far, the best experience. Patrick and his team were not pushy and didn't try to upsell unrelated services, unnecessary add-ons, or sketchy-sounding financing/lease agreements.

Throughout the entire process, I was very pleased with the knowledge, experience, and HONESTY from everyone at New Farm Solar. New Farm Solar spent an enormous amount of time with me to determine what I needed and wanted from my solar system. Their professionalism was impressive. The entire installation was completed in 3 days. They left the work area clean and in a respectful manner. They are here for the long haul; so, I know if I have any questions or need future support, they be there for me. In short, you need to go with New Farm Solar. SIDE NOTE: As a former business owner (in heavy industry with 2 facilities & over 125 employees), I can easily spot BS. I contacted 3 other companies and felt like I was dealing with used car salesmen (inexperienced, expensive, and NOT technically knowledgeable).

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like New Farm Solar consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest New Farm Solar solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on New Farm Solar.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

  • System Design: Receive initial solar system design in a proposal. Review the design and consider panel placement, avoiding “under-sizing“ or “oversizing.“

  • Contract Signing: Select a company and panel design, understand and sign the contract.
  • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
  • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
  • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
  • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation.
