I had NRG install a first system and then a second system (when I realized I needed more capacity) and both installation processes were completed to my satisfaction. They are thorough and made sure I was satisfied with the overall experience. I would recommend them!

Overall I am very happy with NRG. There was some delays with permits and getting approvals but that is outside of NRG's control. My sales person (Antoinette Miner) was very knowledgeable and friendly which is why I purchased from NRG. She didn't put me through a pointless presentation like other solar companies tried to do. Instead I asked for numbers and cost and we got right to business which was great. The process from start to finish changed from one rep to another at the various stages of the process. Even though a particular depart could have given me better answers in terms of helping me understand complex technical details i was asking about how the system works, the overall process was great. I want to specially mention and thank Nicole Corona. Nicole provided me amazing service!!! I left a voicemail and she returned my call the same day which was great. She did a great job a listening to my concern and addressing it promptly and effectively. It's not everyday someone provides this level of quality costumer service. She was very kind, very friendly, and had such an amazing positive attitude. In addition to being super nice, Nicole was very knowledgeable, she answered all my questions and took the time to make sure everything was ok. She made sure I was happy. It was a pleasure speaking with Nicole.

I worked with Nicole Corona as our Installation Manager who was a delight to work with. She was informative, quick to respond to all my questions, and helpful throughout the entire process. It does feel tricky to follow all aspects of the process, so having a helping hand allowed me to be put at ease.

I tried many different solar providers during the proposal stage. Eventually went ahead with NRG Energy. Most other solar providers would not want anything to do with a ground mount system, as they are much more complex to do than roof mount. For my home, it was particularly difficult as the ground installation was on a 30 degree slope and had limited access for mechanical equipment. In addition had a ground squirrel issue. NRG Energy had no problem providing a reasonable bid for this system. I am glad I went ahead with them. To start with, Antoinette did the initial proposal. She was excellent in accommodating my unique requirements (including rodent protection and warranty) and putting a reasonable proposal together. I also had a very positive experience with her when it became necessary after the design to make adjustments based on the design team's input. Her flexibility and efforts were crucial to making it possible for this project to proceed. Later on came the installation and the many issues that had to be overcome due to high slope and poor access. Aracely was the manager assigned to overseeing the installation. I am so happy about that. She was superb in navigating all issues encountered with persistence and making sure everything was addressed along the way. If I do another solar project with NRG (system expansion), which is quite possible down the road, I can only hope Aracely can be the installation manager for the project. Not only was she good in managing the complex installation, I found her to be particularly responsive to my inquiries and in keeping me posted every step of the way. She is a true star! I can not thank the installation team of Martin and Karen enough. They performed with a high degree of professionalism and attention to every detail, so there were no surprises when it came to passing the inspections. They went way beyond my expectations in every way and came up with very good solutions to the installation issues. I wish every contractor could be as professional and detail oriented as these guys. Too bad it is not possible to give them 6 stars. Throughout the process my experience with NRG has been very positive. It is clear to me this is a company that cares about quality of their work and customer satisfaction.

We made the decision to sign with NRG Clean Power due to the competitive pricing and great rep who reached out to us. Devon definitely provided us with so much information more than any other company we looked into prior to finding NRG. Our permitting process was a lot longer than expected but it’s understandable since we signed during holiday season. We were happy when we got to installation. Janet Medina was our coordinator, she kept us updated and always returned our calls and emails. She also explained that they had more delays than usual due to the rush of NEM 2.0. We were lucky to have our application approved by SCE. Our installers were great, and inspection passed on the first visit. Thank you NRG & team for a great system!

I chose NRG Clean Power because their quote was among the lowest while still providing the highest quality panels and equipment. The process was efficient and whenever I had a question, they were quick to respond. Aracely Lopez was our project coordinator and she did a great job of making sure everything went smoothly.

A solar project (storage battery and/or panels) can be complicated. It actually involves various vendors and entities. NRG AND their subcontractor(s) are 2nd to none, they know how to work together to get the job done the right way. They have adopted a can-do culture, which prioritizes customer service and professional quality (of all the equipment and the service that goes with it). NOTE: The is another solar business out there that shares a similar name, called NRG Upgrade. Please do not mistake NRG Upgrade with NRG Clean Power. The one you need to go with is NRG Clean Power...

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest NRG Clean Power solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on NRG Clean Power.

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.

Steps for Installing Solar Panels

  • Qualification: Contact solar companies through web forms, referrals, or flyers. Answer questions to determine eligibility.
  • System Design: Receive initial solar system design in a proposal. Review the design and consider panel placement, avoiding “under-sizing“ or “oversizing.“
  • Compare Quotes: Evaluate quotes, considering factors like monthly payments, power output, and system details. Seek guidance to simplify the comparison.
  • Contract Signing: Select a company and panel design, understand and sign the contract.
  • Site Survey: Technician assesses the site for solar panel installation, checking roof orientation and structural integrity.
  • Engineering: Behind-the-scenes process finalizes system layout, electrical configuration, and structural safety for permit submission.
  • Permitting: The company obtains necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Installation: Expert team mounts panels, installs wiring and inverters, connects the system to the grid.
  • System Activation: Request final inspections, obtain permission to operate (PTO) from the utility, and turn on the system. Monitoring apps track power generation.
