John's solar experience | Warren, Massachusetts

Working with Andrew Wright was fantastic. He is an expert on solar systems and explains things in ways so that I easily understood the the system and how solar works. I also give the highest praise to the Tony, and his people for their hard work ethic, high quality installation skills and that when they finished the install they left my property immaculate.

I definitely couldn't be happier to deal with this solar company. My Energy Consultant Brian Sture was extremetely honest, patient and diligent with the whole proccess. The company itselft already has a good reputation and is very trustful to choose it from the rest. I definitely will recommend this Solar Company for anybody interested in having a good experience getting their panels installed.

Andrew Wright in sales was clear, accommodating, endlessly patient, and ultimately persuasive in helping us to understand the process and choose RGS above a number of other companies for a subject about which we knew nothing.

Locally, Dani Cuozzo in project coordination was completely knowledgeable about what we were facing in installation and responded promptly and constructively to our many many concerns about installing this system at an historic property. I am particularly grateful for her efforts to respond to my concerns about getting this work completed during the current calendar year.

Also locally, the installation team of electricians Greg, Jim, Tony and one other whose name I now don't remember all showed up on time, worked efficiently, were courteous and respectful of working in our home, took time to answer my questions about what they were doing, produced work that looked to my eye to be professional, and finished ahead of schedule. I do not remember a time when I have had such a positive experience with tradesmen working at my house.

RGS Solar installed solar panels on our home this past August. All representatives of the company were friendly and professional, including the sales team I spoke with over the phone, the site inspector, and the installation crew. They walked us through the whole process and provided good information in writing to explain how it all works. Originally we were told that the installation would be in October, but they were able to get it done in August, ahead of schedule, which we really appreciated. I highly recommend RGS if you are considering going solar. They are also the oldest solar company in the U.S., which gave me peace of mind that they'll still be around for years to come in case any of the panels ever need repair or replacement.

I had tried getting a quote with another company before going to RGS, and the other company didn't even participate in the incentive programs offered in Rhode Island. Then I went to RGS and they took care of the whole incentive application and made every step very clear.

It didn't feel like I was being pressured by salespeople, and the price was about what I expected. Everything went smoothly and everyone at RGS was very responsive and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have only had the panels a little while and there haven't been any problems, but I'm sure that if I had any issues, RGS would be quick to fix them.

I am very happy with the installation of my home unit. I have 18 panels. The communication with the sales rep, the company office handler, the financial department, and installers was professional, timely, and more than expected.

I chose them because the explain how and how much I was gonna save, how much the system was gonna produce, but it's no happening, they install the solar pannels back side of my home where there not much sun and they are tilted the way its suppose to be, i requested to install them on the other side where the sun we can take advantage but they didn't want to, also the guy that its in charge of the electrical department at RI or was very disrespectful to me, the way I was treated.

RGS assured me that their Year 1 production estimate was conservative (note, the contract provides no recourse for you, so you are relying on their word). During the first year, my system produced approximately 77% of their "conservative" estimate, which will extend my payback period substantially.

What To Look For In A Solar Installer?

When looking for a solar installer, it's essential to consider various factors to ensure you choose a reputable and competent company that meets your needs.

When selecting an installer like RGS Energy (Out of Business) consider:

Experience and Reputation:

Look for a company with a solid track record and years of experience in the solar industry. Read the latest RGS Energy (Out of Business) solar reviews from past customers to gauge their reputation.

Certifications and Licenses:

Ensure the installer holds the necessary licenses and certifications required in your area. Look for certifications from organizations like the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to verify their expertise.

Quality Products and Technology:

Inquire about the types and brands of solar panels, inverters, and other equipment they use. Quality matters for long-term performance. Ask if they offer the latest solar technologies, such as high-efficiency panels or energy storage solutions.

Warranty Information:

Understand the warranties they offer for equipment and workmanship. A reputable installer should provide comprehensive warranties. The majority of modern solar panels are equipped with a warranty spanning 20 to 30 years, encompassing both the product's integrity and its energy output. An ordinary workmanship warranty offered by a certified company typically provides coverage for solar panels for an average period of 10 years.

Transparent Pricing and Contracts:

Get detailed solar quotes that include all costs, from equipment and labor to permits and inspections. Review the contract carefully to ensure it's clear and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises.

Local Knowledge:

Choose a company familiar with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. This can expedite the installation and ensure compliance.

Customized Design:

Look for companies who provide custom solar system designs tailored to your specific energy needs and property characteristics.

Energy Production Estimates:

The installer should provide accurate estimates of how much energy the system will generate, factoring in local climate conditions and other key influences. If your estimated solar savings are much higher with one solar company, you'll want to inquire further to ensure their savings projections aren't skewed to close the sale. Connect with us for a free estimate.

Financing Options:

Inquire about solar financing options, including purchase, lease, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Ensure you know the pros and cons of each option.

Customer Service:

Assess their responsiveness and willingness to answer your questions and concerns and consider the installer's commitment to your project satisfaction. Throughout your solar process we’ll advocate for you, ensuring your solar project is done right.

References and Recommendations:

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues who have installed solar panels. Ask the installer for references from past clients who can share their experiences. You can also read the latest reviews on RGS Energy (Out of Business).

Multiple Quotes:

Don't hesitate to obtain quotes from multiple installers to compare pricing, services, and warranties. Hint: We can help!

Financing and Incentive Knowledge:

Ensure the installer is knowledgeable about available incentives, tax credits, rebates and financing options. At EnergyPal, we’ll help maximize your savings.

Safety Practices:

Confirm that the installer adheres to safety protocols during installation to protect both workers and your property.

By researching and considering these factors, you can select a reputable solar installer who will provide a quality solar energy system and a positive experience throughout the installation process. Connect with us to learn more about the best solar installers in your area.
